Welcome to Alberta 55 plus, Zone 2 cycling event hosted by Area 6.

WHY NOW:  Cycling has been a timed event for Alberta55plus MEMBERS for many years at zone, provincial and national competitions. Unfortunately, the 2024 national host, Quebec City does not offer cycling. This left those Alberta members who qualified for the national with no opportunity to participate. HENCE THIS OFFERING to members and non members. Post ride lunch to be made available.

When: Saturday, Sept 7, 2024. Ride start +/- 10AM. All riders due back by Noon.

Where: Start and End your ride in Carstairs at Memorial Park. Lots of parking.

Register: 9-10AM @ Memorial Park Gazebo, Carstairs. See map.

For 2024 members of Zone 2,3 and 4: No charge for lunch and insurance coverage included for the event.

For non-members: No charge for the ride.  A $5-$10 charge(if #’s require otherwise free) will cover your lunch.  Please sign the Waiver at registration.

Who: Alberta 55plus  Zones 2, 3 and 4 with valid 2024 membership .

Also, Ages 55+ plus male and female cyclists (if fortunate to be under 55+ the invitation is still open) who want a change of scenery and meet more cyclists.

What:  Fun/training ride on pavement.

Distances of 25+ km and 35+ km or you choose the distance on ‘out and back and loop courses.  Rules of the road apply.  Course map to follow

Equipment: Helmet, road bike in good condition.  Prefer some reflective/colorful gear for  visibility. Head light/tail light are optional.

Course: Limited directional arrows including turn around will be signed.

Support:  Water at midpoints. Sweep vehicle.
